I'm always shocked how quickly my kids pick up on new things.
For instance, today Jackson decided to start climbing the stairs because his big brother does it. (And Mommy does it, too, thanks to the cast.)
Then, this evening we discovered Jimmy can climb onto the kitchen chairs and then onto the kitchen table. (Note: Our kitchen chairs sit very high up, and we bought them high on purpose.) His smug expression revealed nothing short of a victory on his end.
Jackson has also started what we call "real" crawling. No more army crawls, because he's now up on all fours and trucking it around the house.
Jimmy is addicted to dancing. Seriously. He asks to listen to music all day and when you turn some on he dances....and dances.....and dances....and dances....and dances some more. Any questions as to why he still takes two naps a day?
Jackson is talking up a storm. He tells me when he's hungry by shouting, "Ba-ba!" and when he sees me making a bottle he exclaims it over and over. When he's tired he says, "Mommy." I also swear he said "all done" the other day while eating lunch.
Jimmy has learned to take off his shirt. For the life of him he can't wiggle out of his pants, which makes potty training at this point useless, but he can take his shirt off just about as quick as you can blink your eyes. It's not out of the ordinary to find him half naked post-nap.
The boys love to wrestle. They love to wrestle so much it makes up a large part of our day. To add insult to (potential) injury, they are both extremely ticklish and wrestling brings about huge bouts of laughter from both. Jimmy loves wrestling so much he will lay himself purposely in front of Jackson to spur the match. It's quite humorous to watch a 20 month old and an 8 month old go at it, as at this point "wrestling" involves a lot of crawling on top of the other, drooling on the other's face, tickling and sometimes pinching (always unintentionally, though.) Don't worry, at this stage it's not violent just out of pure love and for fun, but I do fear the upcoming years when this cute little act will begin involving hitting, biting, throwing objects....you get the jist. Cute now, not so much later.
I have never been so worn out or happy in my entire life. Watching the bond strengthen between the boys brings such a joy to my heart that words don't quite do the job. I can't help but kiss them bunches throughout the day and my heart melts when both come over and crawl into my lap. Jimmy occasionally lets me have a mommy moment and he will sit still just long enough for a cuddle. Jackson has no patience for cuddling, because if he's being held, he's most likely missing out on some major playtime with his big brother.
God, I can't thank you enough for trusting me to raise these little angels! Got any more in store for me? :)
